AGPL-3.0-or-later

1. Open Source

Zephyros is free and open-source software licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 or later (AGPL-3.0). The full license text is available in the LICENSE file on GitHub.

2. What you can do

You may use, copy, modify, and distribute Zephyros freely. You can run your own instance of the protocol. The source code is always transparent and auditable by anyone.

3. What you must do

If you modify Zephyros and run it as a network service (e.g., a hosted mixing pool), you must make your modified source code available to the users of that service under the same AGPL-3.0 license. Any derivative work must also be licensed under AGPL-3.0.

4. Why AGPL-3.0?

AGPL-3.0 is a copyleft license designed to keep privacy software open and verifiable. It prevents companies from forking Zephyros into a closed-source competing service. This is the same license used by other privacy-focused projects like Zcash.

5. Disclaimer

This software is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. While we take security seriously and encourage responsible disclosure, you use Zephyros at your own risk. See the Security Policy for vulnerability reporting.

6. Contributing

We welcome contributions. By submitting code to Zephyros you agree to license your contributions under the same AGPL-3.0 license. See our Security Policy for reporting issues responsibly.
